Gay Ski Val D’isere, France

Val d’Isère

is a commune of the Tarentaise Valley, in the Savoie department (Rhône-Alpes region) in southeastern France. It lies 5 km (3 mi) from the border with Italy.

The western and central areas of Val d’Isère are most recognizable by their “chalet” architecture, while in the eastern part of the town high-rise architecture dominates the landscape. Along with nearby Tignes the area forms part of the “l’Espace Killy“, the self-titled “Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World”.[citation needed]

The Pissaillas Glacier offers summer skiing, as well as the usual winter fare. Snow cannon are placed on certain slopes to accommodate heavy skiing. The ski slopes themselves are equipped with a high-volume gondola, able to transport standing skiers, the funicular Funival from La Daille via a tunnel to the top of Bellevarde, traditional chair lifts—some with windshields and many detachable, button/disc-pulls and tow-ropes. There are both groomed slopes and backcountry (off-piste) skiing. The slopes’ difficulty levels are particularly high. However, as in Tignes there are wide, easily navigable pistes for those of the beginner-intermediate level as well. Its extensive off-piste facilities include guides for safety reasons; reviews are generally favourable.

Tignes possesses more of the same, with a funicular shuttling skiers up through one of the mountains to the Grande Motte glacier. A free shuttle bus runs between the villages in the valley, providing free transport throughout the towns of Val d’Isère and La Daille.

Gay Palm Springs $99! with INNdulge

The ultimate desert playground for outdoor adventure, arts and culture, gaming and entertainment. Whether you are planning a family vacation, couple who wants a romantic retreat, or want a girlfriend’s getaway…Palm Springs is “Fun in the Sun” year-round.

INNdulge corners the market on comfortable and casual. One section of the structure has the requisite pool and hot tub, and features rooms that are spacious and pampered without being stuffy, with nicely preserved ’50’s style kitchenettes (PS loves its retro history!) There is a poolside social hour (which most inns offer) and INNdulge probably boasts the most spectacular mountain-range view. Practically every Palm Springs Locale is outfitted with misters to combat the desert heat, but INNdulge has the only pool chiller which, when the heat soars to skin-melting temperatures, is quite a draw.

5 Hot Spots for Gay Travel in Mexico

Machismo is a way of life for many Mexican males, and because of this
inherent homophobia passed on through generations, Mexico was slow to create
LGBT communities — making it a less than desirable destination for gay travelers. Things have come a long way in this beautiful country, and
individual cities and states are opening their arms to the gay community.

In March 2010, Mexico City approved same-sex marriage, and in 2013, Mexico’s Supreme Court ruled that a ban on same-sex marriage in Oaxaca was unconstitutional. These
incredible advancements for gays in Mexico have cleared a path for more cities
and states to follow.

From all-inclusive, romantic beach vacations to nightlife, city life and
history — many areas have become hot spots for gay travel, and for good
reasons. Whether you’re looking for a vacation destination or a place to settle
down for a while, these top five locales are not only gay-friendly, they have
large LGBT communities too.

Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta was one of the first coastal locations to
welcome the gay community, and it has transformed into the perfect mix of
beaches, nightlife and culture to suit party-goers, beach bums, foodies and
shoppers alike. Vallarta attracts gay travelers from around the world as well
as the bigger Mexican metropolises of Guadalajara and Mexico City.

Puerto Vallarta offers hotels, restaurants, clubs, guesthouses, bars and
even beaches that cater specifically to the LGBT community. From the famous gay
beach to gay boating adventures, there’s something for everyone in the
incredibly open, friendly and gorgeous Bahia de Banderas area.

Ohio’s Hocking Hills region offer breathtaking scenery and quirky lodging options

Antique train caboose, old school house, general store, yurts and more among Hocking Hills’ accommodations!

Not only does Ohio’s Hocking Hills region offer breathtaking forests, waterfalls, scenery and
unforgettable experiences, but it also boasts a host of lodging options
that are truly one-of-a-kind.  Travelers can spend the night in a historic train caboose or an old-fashioned gypsy wagon as they experience first-hand just how special a visit to southeast
Ohio’s Hocking Hills can be.  Incredibly affordable, some of these offbeat options are available for as little as $50 per night. Complete accommodations booking and visitor information is
found at  ExploreHockingHills.com.

Intrepid travelers can “Sleep in History” — literally — thanks to the creative
preservationists at Historic Host Vacation Rentals. Among this unusual
lodging company’s offerings are a restored general store/post office, with its original scale, shelving and other vintage touches. The old Dunkle Schoolhouse, a 1926 B&O train caboose and an Ohio early farmhouse are also available for overnight accommodations. Historic Host’s
Salt & Pepper Shaker Museum, two historic B&Bs and several  charming little cottages and cabins in its Fiddlestix Village round out the offerings.  Each is lovingly restored so guests enjoy a
comfortable yet authentic overnight stay that carefully preserves the
rich history of not just the shelter, but the Hocking
Hills region itself.

At Boulders Edge Cabin and Tipi Retreatallows visitors to experience the magic and tranquility of
camping in traditional Sioux Native American tipis, reminiscent of
“Dances with Wolves.”  Each tipi sleeps 10 comfortably, sits on a wooden
deck and has a wood-burning stove inside.  Guests provide their own sleeping gear cot or mattress, sleeping bag and chairs.  But picnic tables, fire rings and a solar shower are provided.

Why Should You Use a Travel Agent?

When the internet exploded, many travelers went out on their own, searching, looking for deals and bargains, booking things themselves – I never understood that. Why would I want to spend HOURS doing all the work – when a travel professional probably knows most of the answers!

They know what deals are happening – they know how you can save money –  there  are over 100  REASONS to use a travel agent –

here are just a few…..

 Convenient One-Stop Shopping
Travel agents can
handle every aspect of your trip from airline tickets to lodging,
ground transportation, activities, tours and more.

 Consumer Advocate
If you should have a problem during your trip, travel agents can act on your behalf to see that proper restitution’s are made.

Expert Guidance
Travel
agents are experts in helping travelers get where they need to go and
in helping to create possibilities most people never would have dreamed
were possible.

 Save Time
Avoid the headaches and let the travel agents call around and do all the time consuming work of planning a complex itinerary.

 Choice
Travel
agents offer you an array of options and price quotes from a variety of
travel suppliers, giving you the upper hand when making your final
travel decisions.

Less Stress
Planning a trip
can be stressful. There are so many options and details to worry about.
Travel agents do the work, resulting in less stress for you.

 Updated Information
Travel
agents are constantly communicating with the travel community, thus
giving you the most up to date info on airlines, hotels, car rental
agencies, travel visas, and other travel services to consider as you
plan your trip.

Customer Service
Travel
agents offer that “personal touch” to your travel planning experience-
Offering help and advice that a website cannot provide.

 Travel Expertise
Many travel agents are
considered experts in the area you are traveling to and have probably
already been to your chosen destination.

Best Value for Your Money Spent
Travel
agents can help you to make your dollars go farther while you are
away.  They have access to finding all sorts of deals ranging from
flights to hotels to dinner recommendations.

 Location, Location, Location!!!!
Travel
Specialists can help you to find a place to stay pretty much anywhere
you desire.  If it’s a hotel with a view of the ocean in Hawaii or a
jungle hut in the Nilgiri foothills, a travel agent can help you make it
happen.

Knowledge of All the Ins and Outs
Travel specialists can help bring you up to speed on the local laws and regulations of wherever your travels take you.

 Avoid International Flight Confusion
Travel specialists can help organize those confusing international flights that internet search engines don’t cover.

 Personalized Trips
A travel agent can prepare you a personalized trip based on where you want to go and what you want to do.

Where to Go to Avoid Kids
Want
to go somewhere without children running all over the place? A travel
agent can help you to find excellent retreats that are open to adults
only.

Local Traditions
Travel
specialists can update you on all local traditions and customs of
places you are visiting, so you make a good impression. For example, in
Japan many people expect their visitors to take their shoes off before
entering their homes.

 Complicated Itineraries Made Simple
Travel
experts can take care of all the details for those complicated around
the world itineraries and all the extra headaches that go with them,
such as hotel and transportation along the way.

Special Deals Worked Out in Advance – Travel
agents may have a relationship with certain tour operators and could be
able to get you a special price that might not otherwise be available.

Difference in Days to Save Money
Instead
of playing around with dates on the internet for hours, your travel
agent can advise you on any changes to your travel dates that might save
you hundreds of dollars.

 Staying In-the-Know of Daily Promotions
Travel agents get emails and faxes of daily money saving promotions.

They Are Considered Travel Experts and Specialists – Wouldn’t you rather have a travel expert plan your trip rather than a pre-programmed website?

It just Makes Sense to Use a Travel Agent.
 They’re Out There… Use Them
Why do the work if someone else like a travel specialist can.

Travel Agents Must Be Doing Something Right.  They Sure Have a lot of Business

Travel
agents still sell 51 percent of all airline tickets, 87 percent of all
cruises, 81 percent of all tours and packages, 45 percent of all car
rentals and about 47 percent of all hotels.

 It Makes Traveling Easy
Once you find a good travel agent, your dream vacation is just a phone call away.

Prague Pride 2013 – Keep on Growing!

Prague Pride returns for year 3! It all started with a vision – Prague Pride Civic Association is a voluntary, non-governmental, non-political, non-profit organizations.
Its aims are mainly promoting tolerant civil society, the fight against
homophobia and increase public awareness of gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgender community in the country.

The association was founded in 2010 and its main activity is organizing a warm human rights Prague Pride festival in August.  August 12-18, 2013  this year.

In just 2 years Prague Pride has grown into the
biggest LGBT festival of the former communist countries of central and eastern
Europe
, with 40.000 visitors in 2012. It has
shown that Prague is the most liberal capital of the region, so it was no
surprise when Lonely Planet listed Prague among the top 10 of friendliest
cities to gays and that Prague Pride has recently been listed among Europe’s 10
best prides on gaycities.com.
Prague
Pride is proud to act as an exemplary beacon of openness and tolerance for its
neighbours in the region.

Passport Magazine wrote, “Indeed, the rainbow people are now more visible than they’ve ever been
in picturesque Prague. The city’s first two LGBT Pride events in 2011
and 2012 have done wonders to turn what was previously a rather
scattered and underground gay community into a vibrant and cohesive
whole. “Before Pride 2011, there were basically just numerous bars and clubs concentrating only on their own businesses,” explains Prokopík, founder of a local tour operator, Prague4Gay.
“Alongside them were a few ‘islands’ of projects and organizations
struggling for recognition and support from the community. The
organizers of Prague Pride managed to bring them together. During Pride
the individual ‘islands’ merged into one community, recognizing and
supporting each other for the first time.”

Prague is very affordable since they still are NOT on the euro.

Gay Travel Tip! 5 Affordable Countries to visit NOW

5 AFFORDABLE COUNTRIES YOU SHOULD VISIT NOW!  Albania (pictured),  Bolivia, Vietnam, Iceland and Myanmar.

As Albania is becoming more and more popular with Brits, so is property
buying.  Already many Brits have spotted the opportunity that Albania
has as an emerging tourism destination and as such many of them own
properties on the Albanian coastline that stretches for over 450
kilometres.

Albania has a rich history, and over 2000 archaeological sites to be
visited.  Albania has three important UNESCO protected sites that are
visited by many.

  • Gjirokastra is one of them, known as the stone city, built on top of
the mountains with fascinating scenery and the dominant castle that
    overlooks the city.
  • Berat, known as the city of 1000 windows.  Also built on the side of
the mountains, the characteristic buildings are the dominant feature of
    the city.
  • Butrinti, is an ancient site where Caesar retired after the
successful battles.  The sites oversee the beautiful island of Corfu.

And the list goes on and on.

Vietnam for $10 day!  Can you believe that? You can get your lodging, food, alcohol, and even transportation for about $10 a day. That is just crazy!  As of 2012, the government is officially debating the issue of allowing
gay marriage and this open discussion is rippling through Vietnamese
society in a fundamental and positive way. From famous poets,
celebrities, and party leaders, gays have, of course, always been an
integral thread in the fabric of Vietnam.

Another cheap spot – Boliva. Eat, drink and have lots of fun for just a few dollars a day. Meals for  $3, and  hotels about
$30/night. Bolivia is a typical “macho” Latin American country where there is deep
rooted prejudice and homosexuality is never discussed. There is a very
small gay scene developing in Santa Cruz and La Paz though with a
greater focus on cruising in the city squares than bars or night clubs. One thing to keep in mind with Bolivia is that there are
reciprocal visa fees for Americans.

ICELAND . The gay scene in Iceland is small, but active and open. Gay and lesbian bars and clubs exist mostly in Iceland’s capital Reykjavík, but the northern branch in Akureyri is growing each year.

Iceland as a gay friendly destination has received great reviews from
visitors — it has landed on various top ten lists and received the “5
Pink Stars” rating by Diva magazine.   There’s never been a better time to go. Take advantage of Icelandair’s
stopover package and take in the glaciers, geysers and so much more. The
Eyjafjallajokull volcano has ignited a spark welcoming tourists to
explore this natural and romantic destination.

Rainbow Reykjavik is a new LGBT festival held in Reykjavik, Iceland
on Jan 30th – Feb 2nd 2014. The 3rd annual festival is a mix of
fascinating culture, amazing nature, fantastic music, great food and a
lot of fun.

Pink Iceland, the only tour operator in Iceland dedicated to LGBT
clientele has put together a fabulous program with the best Reykjavik
and its surroundings has to offer. Pink Iceland’s partners are either
gay owned, gay operated or gay friendly and with a great cooperation of
this Icelandic velvet mafia we hope to make your stay unforgettable.

If you want to experience a part of Asia that simply isn’t seen by most
outsiders right now, head to Myanmar. Because of the small amount of
tourism that the area currently sees, it is a very cheap area to visit.  Myanmarseems frozen in time, but expect everything to change rapidly as the
country opens. You can still see Asian daily life here as it existed
more than a century ago. Almost everywhere you visit is going to be
safe. You must take shoes off at all sacred s, so consider easily
removable footwear (and a wet towel to clean feet).

2nd Annual Private Gay Six Flags Event Returns to Chicago

Out In The Park at Six Flags Great America

Returns in 2013 with a BANG!

A Spectacular Night of Amusement and Entertainment to Help Benefit Chicago House!

Out In The Park is an annual private LGBTQ Saturday night event featuring unlimited riding of ALL Six Flags Great America’s amazing rides and live music by an internationally sought after DJ who calls Chicago home, Matthew Harvat, delivering a complete 4 hour party-celebration dance area everyone can enjoy when taking a break from riding. New this year is a laser light show to dance above the crowd and some go-go gods to dance with the crowd.

Plus live musical performance by national recording artists Eli LiebJess Godwin and Isaiah Grass.

In an interview with ChicagoPride.com: “We are very excited to be asked to present this event annually by the executives at Six Flags Great America based on last year’s success and their excitement in allowing us this unique fundraising opportunity at such an awesome private venue inside their park for our community” said Derrick Sorles, owner of BestGayChicago.com. “We are proud to have Chicago House benefiting from this year’s event and we are so excited to have Mini Cooper of Chicago co-presenting with us!”

In 2012, over 3600 people came out to support this event and nearly $12,000 was raised for TPAN. For 2013, over 7000-8000 people are expected to come out and BestGayChicago.com hopes to raise close to $20,000 for Chicago House.

“What’s great about the event is that it is closed to the general public, ” explains Michael Snell. “The LGBTQ attendees and their friends and family can enjoy the park with little or no lines (no Flash Pass needed)  and no hassle’s from anyone. It will be like a fall gay pride celebration!”

Last year there were comments from the community that people who did not enjoy rides, had no reason to come. So this year, more entertainment has been added.  Singers Eli Lieb, Isaiah Grass  and Jess Godwin will  perform  on a stage, separate from the dance area.

The park will once again be serving beer and specialty drinks, at reduced drink prices, just for us! And  we will be planning events on Friday night, Saturday daytime, Saturday after the park, and Sunday recovery things to do! We’ll be announcing events at Scarlett, Taverna 750, Charlies and Hamburger Marys in Chicago and Milwaukee! Making a whole weekend of fun for everyone.

“The other thing that makes this event is so great, is the fact it is supported by everyone.” says Derrick Sorles. “We are so happy and humbled that our peers GRAB Magazine, Chicago Pride.com, and Wisconsin’s QUEST Magazine are also involved in helping to make this a huge success and special thanks to our other Community Partners Walgreens and Mini Cooper of Chicago.

Ticket Prices —-Advance ticket price is $38 for this private event.  There will be FREE parking! (A $22 savings!) Tickets are available now online   at GaySixFlagsChicago.com.

Unfortunately, you can NOT use a smart phone to order tickets.
You will need to use a computer and printer.

Doors  open at 9pm promptly. Ride and enjoy music until 1am.
Drinks are served until Midnight.

$99 Palm Springs Cool Summer Deal

Sure, it can get a little HOT  in the desert in the summertime. But so what? That’s why God made pools, right?!

Our fitness friend DAVEY WAVEY told Gaytravel.com, “Interestingly, the high temperatures bring in a different crowd. Instead of attracting the usual crowd from San Diego and Los Angeles,
many of the tourists were from Eastern Europe. For the international
visitors, discounted hotel rooms and hot weather are a huge draw—and
much of Europe closes down later in the summer. It’s why the Palm
Springs locals affectionately refer to the summer months as “Foreskin
Season.”

This trip, I stayed at INNdulge—a clothing-optional resort for gay men.
Though there is no shortage of clothing-optional or gay hotels in Palm
Springs, INNdulge is different. The owners of INNdulge, Sandy and Jon,
go out of their way to build a real sense of community. Each evening,
for example, the owners hold a social hour to let the guests mix and
mingle. It’s a great way to connect with other visitors and to make new
friends.”

BY THE WAY, INNdulge has a $99 Summer Special till September 15th, 2012.

Davey continues, ”
Having said all of that, here are my best tips for visiting Palm Springs—and staying cool—during the summer months:

1. Bring a car. If you don’t drive to Palm Springs, be
sure to pick up a rental car at the airport. While walking is fine
during the cooler winter months, the summer heat is oppressive—and
dangerous. Get a car and take advantage of the air conditioning.

2. Prioritize the pool. Needless to say, the pool is
more important than the room. Stay at a hotel or resort with an amazing
pool. With temperatures as high as 120 degrees, you’ll want to spend
much of your downtime in the water.

3. Ride the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Every half
hour, a cable car departs for a mountain peak 6,000 feet above Palm
Springs. The views are stunning—and, it’s usually 30 degrees cooler at
the top. It’s generally 70 – 90 degrees at the summit—thereby providing
some much-needed natural A/C.

4. Shop at the Thursday street fair. Each Thursday—and
after the hot sun goes down—the city comes alive for a weekly street
fair. Packed with local arts and crafts, food and jewelry, it’s a great
way to spend the cooler evening hours.

5. Drink lots and lots of water. Because it’s so hot
and dry, sweat tends to evaporate very quickly—and you might not realize
how dehydrated you really are. Make sure you drink plenty of water—and
take extra bottle with you while you venture out (especially during the
day).

Gay Thailand – Phuket Pride Week April 23-28, 2012

Phuket,  formerly known as Thalang (Tha-Laang) and, in Western sources, Junk Ceylon (a corruption of the Malay Tanjung Salang, i.e. “Cape Salang”), is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighbouring provinces are (from north clockwise) Phang Nga and Krabi, but as Phuket is an island it has no land boundaries.

Phuket, which is approximately the size of Singapore, is Thailand’s largest island. The island is connected to mainland Thailand by two bridges. It is situated off the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea.

Pride comes to Phuket – April 23 to 28, 2012. Phuket Loves You (PLU)
Club is the organization selected to produce this year’s pride
celebration.

The goal for this year’s pride celebration is to create a
stronger sense of community within the Thai and Farang communities in
Phuket which is why this year’s theme, chosen by the Phuket Pride
committee, is “Join our Family”

PHUKET
is an international destination attracting visitors
from Asia, Australia, Europe and the United States.
With 17 sandy beaches, access to the amazing Pha Na
Bay with its dramatic rock formations, and numerous
smaller islands, PHUKET has vaulted to become one of
Conde Nast’s Magazines top ten tropical resort
destinations in the world.

And no wonder. From fantastic food, to world class
water sports (a top world snorkeling and scuba diving
destination), from fabulous shopping to a vibrant night
life, Phuket has something to offer every traveler.

And your money goes a lot farther here than in other
places. (You can life the high life in Phuket for weeks
for the same amount of money one week in Hawaii or the
Caribbean would cost you.) There are countless smaller
boutique hotels and guesthouses – both stylish
and inexpensive – as well as the usual array of
the world’s top hotel chains.

Spanek has researched highly effective skin care brands and successful performance regiments – with the goal of creating her own products that are effective, luxurious, and…effortless.

She says, “ I was doing a lot of international traveling and felt like I was landing looking like a Shar Pei! I realized that out of all the beauty brands to choose from, none of them addressed the issue of flight fatigue and environmental stresses that take a toll on the skin. So, I went on to create a line of comprehensive and streamlined skincare products with targeted ingredients to address these issues.”

Flying takes a toll on your body and your skin. Dry and dehydrated skin, fine lines, redness, dull appearance and irritation are quickly and effectively treated with the kit. The Air Repair Kit contains ground-breaking formulations which are petroleum, mineral oil and paraben free. Targeted ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid (moisture retention), Cloudberry Seed Oil (a powerful anti-oxidant) and Heat Shock Proteins (climate-adjusting) deliver superior results that are ideal for any and all skin types.

Whether in the air or on the ground, Air Repair is the premiere “take care anywhere” skincare kit choice available. Plus, the kit is packaged in a see-through travel bag for carry-on convenience, so it conforms with the 3-1-1 policies. The best part; the PRICE!
