The ultimate desert playground for outdoor adventure, arts and culture, gaming and entertainment. Whether you are planning a family vacation, couple who wants a romantic retreat, or want a girlfriend’s getaway…Palm Springs is “Fun in the Sun” year-round.
INNdulge corners the market on comfortable and casual. One section of the structure has the requisite pool and hot tub, and features rooms that are spacious and pampered without being stuffy, with nicely preserved ’50’s style kitchenettes (PS loves its retro history!) There is a poolside social hour (which most inns offer) and INNdulge probably boasts the most spectacular mountain-range view. Practically every Palm Springs Locale is outfitted with misters to combat the desert heat, but INNdulge has the only pool chiller which, when the heat soars to skin-melting temperatures, is quite a draw.
Las Vegas is a city targeted to, well, everybody and the LGBT scene in Las Vegas is one that is continually growing. While you are holiday in Sin City it is important to know where to stay, especially if you want to be close to the gay scene and more importantly, close to the famous Las Vegas strip.
The Wynn Las Vegas and the Encore are ideal places to stay while in Vegas, especially if you feel a little embarrassed asking the front desk where the gay scene is located as they have their own Pride Concierge service. This is designed to make everyone, both gay and non-gay feel welcomed by the hotel. The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is another good place to stay while you are in Vegas as it’s located near the Fruit Loop, the gay area in Las Vegas. Staying here you’ll not only feel like a celebrity but you’ll not need to rent a car as everything should be in walking distance.
Places like the Luxor Hotel and Casino are definitely worth a visit if you chose not to spend your time staying in their hotel. All the staff are both welcoming and friendly to everyone who crosses into their resort and who knows, the casino games on offer may have you wishing you stayed there in the end . If you chose to try your hand at anything, try roulette. It’s a game that’s based solely on chance so you will really be able to find out if it is really your lucky night. If you are into more skilled games you should try something like poker where you can really test your skills, but watch out for sharks! You don’t want to gamble away all your holiday money, especially when Las Vegas is such a great shopping spot.
I am really not much of a gambler, but I enjoy the opulence and beauty of so many of the new casinos. And I do like slots!
If you’ve driven the Las Vegas Strip lately, you may have noticed some major construction going on just below the Stratosphere, near the northern end of the Strip. Which previously has been a neglected area for new construction, but Las Vegas is running out of room! Eventually downtown and the strip will connect.
There are two major projects here, the first of which is the SLS Las Vegas, a 1,600-room luxury ($400 million rebuild) casino resort from growing hospitality company sbe. This will be the fourth SLS property in the US (New York, South Beach and LA, while sbe also operates Redbury Hotels and the Raleigh in South Beach).
Macau, one of the hottest new international gambling locations, is known worldwide as “the Monte Carlo of China.” However, don’t expect any draconian rules here – Macau is home to some of the biggest, most exciting casinos and casino hotels in the world. Hotel Lisboa – The Lisbon Hotel in Macau is renowned as a symbol of Macau. It looks like a cross between a Western luxury five-star hotel and a traditional Chinese lantern, all 15+ stories lit up like a beacon in the middle of Macau.
MONACO – Monte Carlo, the Hotel de Paris; Famous for its jet-set lifestyle and magnificent casinos, Monte Carlo is ideal for a high rolling holiday. As for the lodging of choice, none can compare to Hotel de Paris, connected to the Place du Casino by a mere flight of stairs. Despite how popular this opulent hotel has become since it first opened in 1864, it still retains an air of discretion.
So we all kind travel the world this year?! You can still gamble from the comfort of your home. CasinoSpesialisten offers everything from blackjack to roulette, plus mobile casino for your phone or tablet. So until you can get to Macau or Monaco, stay home and get online!

Aqua Girl® traces its beginnings to the year 1999. That year, Alison Burgos and NYC’s legendary women’s producer, Shescape, gathered a committee of like-minded women from around South Florida to produce an exciting one-night event to benefit breast cancer. The event, Sweet Charity, was an extraordinary dance event bringing together over 800 women and raising over $15,000 for two local breast cancer organizations, Cancer Link and Gilda’s Club.
We can’t believe how time flies. Now in its fourteenth fabulous year, Aqua Girl® continues to attract women from all corners of the country, the Americas and around the globe. The week continues to grow with an ever-expanding variety of events that enhance its appeal and have created what is now the hottest women’s festivals in the country.
As the largest charity women’s week in the country, your participation in Aqua Girl® contributes to a very good cause. In fact, 100% of the proceeds from Aqua Girl® benefit the Aqua Foundation for Women, a not-for-profit foundation whose primary mission is to serve as the funding catalyst for lesbian, bisexual, and transgender wellness and equality in South Florida through grants, scholarships, and initiatives.

BroughtonHotels recently completed renovations on three historic Chicago boutique hotels, The Majestic Hotel (528 West Brompton), The Willows Hotel (555 West Surf), and City Suites Chicago (933 West Belmont). All have undergone stunning top-to-bottom transformations.
Originally built in the 1920s in Chicago’s Lakeview and Lincoln Park neighborhoods, each property features a renewed grandeur that includes sophisticated new guestroom and lobby furnishings, enhanced lighting, window treatments, linens, carpeting and beautiful custom artwork throughout. iHome docks are now in all guestrooms, and fiber optic internet has been installed in every hotel. California-based design firm AF Canta created the concept for the renovation.
“We are thrilled to introduce a stunning renovation that retains the charm that travelers have embraced at broughtonHotels. We look forward to welcoming guests to ‘live like a local’ and experience a stay in the unique neighborhood settings offered at these three special Chicago properties,” says CEO Larry Broughton.
The 52-room Majestic Hotel offers the refined tranquility of an old-world English country estate in the midst of the bustling East Lakeview neighborhood. Tucked amidst brownstones in a quiet upscale residential area one block from Lake Michigan, The Majestic Hotel is walking distance to Wrigley Field, minutes from downtown and steps from the eclectic attractions on Broadway, Halsted and Clark Streets. The elegant, re-designed lobby features sparkling Art Deco crystal chandeliers, comfortable furnishings, a wall-length vintage photograph of Wrigley Field on stretched canvas, and an expansive fireplace. The hotel’s guestrooms and suites now feature a color scheme with soothing neutral tones, luxurious new linens and window coverings, soft velvet throws, with plush new carpeting and tasteful wooden furniture. A renovated meetings and event space that can accommodate up to 25 guests provides the perfect setting for showers, parties and small business meetings.
The 55-room Willows Hotel, a storied landmark building that was a regular haunt of Al Capone, is a regal Parisian-inspired gem in the Lincoln Park area. Steps from the shops and restaurants on Clark and Diversey, and only two blocks from Lake Michigan, the Willows Hotel offers an enchanting retreat surrounded by stately Victorian greystone buildings. The highlight of the redesigned lobby is an exquisite fireplace, surrounded by communal gathering tables, rustic French country light fixtures and marble flooring. The redecorated guestrooms and suites include new furniture, carpeting, bed linens, and walls painted in a calming gray hue. The classic décor provides guests with a refined setting for business and leisure travel in one of Chicago’s most desirable neighborhoods.
The 45-room City Suites Chicago is an oasis of comfortable yet refined charm on Belmont Avenue near the nightlife, theaters and restaurants in the Boystown and Wrigleyville areas of Lakeview. The serene lobby is highlighted by neutral décor, a corridor lined with natural wood beams, an expansive fireplace and striking black and white photography. The tastefully redecorated guestrooms and suites offer the ambiance of a hip Chicago apartment and feature chic mid-Century modern touches with stunning light fixtures, black and white linens, new furniture and carpeting. City Suites Chicago is a two-minute walk to the Brown, Purple and Red Lines at the Belmont CTA stop, allowing guests convenient access to all of the attractions in Chicago.

An official in western North Carolina has accepted marriage license
requests from 10 same-sex couples, despite a 2012 amendment to the state
constitution forbidding such marriages.
North Carolina is among 29 U.S. states with
constitutional amendments defining marriage as between a man and a
woman. Six other states, including Pennsylvania, have laws that do so.
Local officials in Pennsylvania and New Mexico,
which has no law banning or approving same-sex nuptials, have begun
issuing marriage licenses to gay couples since the June 26 high court
A South Carolina mayor has sparked the ire of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community after expressing her opposition to same-sex marriage in a Facebook status referencing “queers.”
As Fox Carolina is reporting, West Union Mayor Linda Oliver took to Facebook in response to a North Carolina county official’s decision to defy his state’s ban on same-sex marriage by accepting marriage applications from LGBT couples.
While the mayor’s controversial post has since been deleted, Towleroad quotes Oliver as having originally written:
What’s it gonna take to get these queers to realize they
don’t need a piece of paper. God will not bless their union because he
plainly speaks against queers in the Bible. Want to cover your queer
with insurance? Buy a policy. Want your queer to get your stuff when you
die? Make a will.
Pittsburgh is usually a pretty gay friendly and tolerant place. But trouble struck this past weekend – Ben Stoviak and his boyfriend Aaron were attacked outside of Remedy
Bar on Butler Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday night after
being taunted by a group of men.
Ben Stoviak wrote on Facebook:
Last night, a group of men attacked me
and my boyfriend on Butler Street in Lawrenceville. After yelling, from
across the street, “Faggot!” at us, I replied, “yes, we’re faggots!”
Immediately after, the group of men ran across the street and began
hitting, kicking, and stomping me. The mark on my right cheek is a
bootprint. Aaron threw himself on top of me to discourage them from
continuing the assault, but they began kicking him in the head, as well.
To the women who saw the ordeal, wrote down their license plate number, and stayed to talk with the police, thank you.
of these men have been arrested since the assault. Aaron and I were in
the hospital until almost 10 am so that the doctors could take MRI, CT
scans, and x-rays to make sure there was no internal bleeding.

Out In The Park at Six Flags Great America
Returns in 2013 with a BANG!
A Spectacular Night of Amusement and Entertainment to Help Benefit Chicago House!
Out In The Park is an annual private LGBTQ Saturday night event featuring unlimited riding of ALL Six Flags Great America’s amazing rides and live music by an internationally sought after DJ who calls Chicago home, Matthew Harvat, delivering a complete 4 hour party-celebration dance area everyone can enjoy when taking a break from riding. New this year is a laser light show to dance above the crowd and some go-go gods to dance with the crowd.
Plus live musical performance by national recording artists Eli Lieb, Jess Godwin and Isaiah Grass.
In an interview with ChicagoPride.com: “We are very excited to be asked to present this event annually by the executives at Six Flags Great America based on last year’s success and their excitement in allowing us this unique fundraising opportunity at such an awesome private venue inside their park for our community” said Derrick Sorles, owner of BestGayChicago.com. “We are proud to have Chicago House benefiting from this year’s event and we are so excited to have Mini Cooper of Chicago co-presenting with us!”
In 2012, over 3600 people came out to support this event and nearly $12,000 was raised for TPAN. For 2013, over 7000-8000 people are expected to come out and BestGayChicago.com hopes to raise close to $20,000 for Chicago House.
“What’s great about the event is that it is closed to the general public, ” explains Michael Snell. “The LGBTQ attendees and their friends and family can enjoy the park with little or no lines (no Flash Pass needed) and no hassle’s from anyone. It will be like a fall gay pride celebration!”
Last year there were comments from the community that people who did not enjoy rides, had no reason to come. So this year, more entertainment has been added. Singers Eli Lieb, Isaiah Grass and Jess Godwin will perform on a stage, separate from the dance area.
The park will once again be serving beer and specialty drinks, at reduced drink prices, just for us! And we will be planning events on Friday night, Saturday daytime, Saturday after the park, and Sunday recovery things to do! We’ll be announcing events at Scarlett, Taverna 750, Charlies and Hamburger Marys in Chicago and Milwaukee! Making a whole weekend of fun for everyone.
“The other thing that makes this event is so great, is the fact it is supported by everyone.” says Derrick Sorles. “We are so happy and humbled that our peers GRAB Magazine, Chicago Pride.com, and Wisconsin’s QUEST Magazine are also involved in helping to make this a huge success and special thanks to our other Community Partners Walgreens and Mini Cooper of Chicago.
Ticket Prices —-Advance ticket price is $38 for this private event. There will be FREE parking! (A $22 savings!) Tickets are available now online at GaySixFlagsChicago.com.
