Gay Travel and Gay Marriage in Denmark

Gay Marriage in Denmark celebrates

25 years!

Twenty-five years ago the first same-sex couple was lawfully married under the Danish registered partnership law, the first of it kind and an inspiration for same-sex marriages, partnerships, civil unions and family laws in countries all over the world.

On the occasion of the ”Silver Anniversary”, an exhibition: ”Equal Love Silver Anniversary, Copenhagen 1989-2014” will be held September/October 2014 at the Copenhagen City Hall where the first couple said yes to each other 25 years ago.
In connection with the exhibition we want to collect wedding pictures and rainbow family photos from all over the world. To that end we hope that you will mention the Equal Love Silver Anniversary in your magazine so that your readers may send us their photos by uploading them to Twitter and hashtag them with #equallove25 or send them by mail to equallove@lgbt.dk – You can read more about the Equal Love – Silver Anniversary celebrations on www.lgbt.dk/equallove25.

We want to show everybody that it was not the end of the world when the first same-sex couple was married 25 years ago. Life goes on. For better. For worse. And for all, irrespective of sexual orientation and gender identity.

Gay Palm Springs $99! with INNdulge

The ultimate desert playground for outdoor adventure, arts and culture, gaming and entertainment. Whether you are planning a family vacation, couple who wants a romantic retreat, or want a girlfriend’s getaway…Palm Springs is “Fun in the Sun” year-round.

INNdulge corners the market on comfortable and casual. One section of the structure has the requisite pool and hot tub, and features rooms that are spacious and pampered without being stuffy, with nicely preserved ’50’s style kitchenettes (PS loves its retro history!) There is a poolside social hour (which most inns offer) and INNdulge probably boasts the most spectacular mountain-range view. Practically every Palm Springs Locale is outfitted with misters to combat the desert heat, but INNdulge has the only pool chiller which, when the heat soars to skin-melting temperatures, is quite a draw.

RUSSIA’S Campaign of Hate and Propaganda

RUSSIA is a very scary place right now.

As most of the world moves forward toward gay equality, Russia is seemingly heading backward. Antigay sentiment and legislation are spreading rapidly throughout the country.

In 2013, the Russian parliament passed a ban on so-called “gay propaganda” that effectively makes nearly any public discussion of gay equality a crime. The city of Moscow has outlawed Gay Pride parades for the next 100 years. Adoption of Russian children is forbidden to citizens of any foreign country that permits gay marriage. And legislation is now being considered that would permit the Russian government to remove gay people’s children from their homes.

The Kremlin has chosen the LGBT community as its scapegoat in a populist campaign against supposedly decadent “Western” values, and there are ominous signs of much worse to come. Violent attacks against Russian gays or suspected gays are more and more common. Videos of young LGBT people being taunted and tortured have been widely distributed on the Internet.

Those are the stories that get the headlines, but there is much more to the Russian LGBT men and woman I have met. It is my hope that this documentary will educate viewers to their reality.

Gay and Straight Travel – Cities and Countries You Might Get Kidnapped!

GREAT ARTICLE this week at THRILLIST..

7 Countries Where You Are Most

Likely to be Kidnapped!

Gay travel or straight travel!

MEXICO – in Juarez, Tijuana and Tampico – Puerto Vallarta  IS TOTALLY  FINE!

HAITI – very unsafe everywhere.

BRAZIL -Sao Paulo and Rio –  they look for wealthy businessmen and their family members mostly. But I have friends got to both cities, and during big events like Carnival and Pride, they do prey on all tourists to steal from and pick pocket.

Philippines – They watch  for tourists.

India – Foreign and tourist abductions are rare. But they prey on Indian children.

Columbia – avoid rural areas, jungles and mountains – cities are usually OK

Venezuela is now considered the most dangerous country in Latin America

Travel Can Make Your Brain Happy!

You go to work; make some money; eat some food; interact with friends, family or co-workers; go home; and watch some TV. Nothing particularly bad happens, but you still can not shake a feeling of stress, or worry, or inadequacy, or loneliness. Whether you have a stressful life and need a break to relax, or you are feeling in a rut and could use some mental stimulation, taking a vacation can provide the perfect change of pace your mind needs. Studies have shown that vacations  can help excite your brain and make it “feel happy”  much like exercise does.

A change of scenery will do you good!  When you visit someplace you have not been before, this gives your brain the most  stimulation. Vacationing in the same place year after year might be enjoyable to you, but it will not stimulate your brain as much as seeing something new. Your brain thrives on activities that it considers new. St. Augustine said “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” So you do to want to keep reading the same page, but instead expand your line of vision.

Eating different foods, meeting new people, exploring and finding your way around unfamiliar places, and taking different modes of transportation are all ways that travel makes your brain work and exercise. Travel forces you to think and use skills that remain dormant and boosts your confidence. If you stop pushing yourself to try new things, eventually your world and confidence shrink, and so does your brain.

Travel Alert Warning for Olympics in Russia from US State Department

The US State Department made special note of Russia’s anti-gay propaganda law in a travel alert it issued on Friday (10 January) for those traveling to Sochi for the Olympics.

The alert mentions Russia’s ban on ‘propaganda of nontraditional sexual
relations,’ the controversial anti-gay law that went into effect last
year, and states it will be applied to visitors as well as Russians.

Utah Says Gay Travel for Marriage to their State is not a Priority

No Surprise!  Utah does not want gays flocking to their state to marry!  While many States have started campaigns to draw same-sex couples. They have no plans to do so!

Salt Lake Tribune says –

A handful of same-sex couples from out
of state have been married in Utah since a federal judge struck down the
state’s ban on gay marriage.

But, unlike several other states where gay
marriage is legal, Utah has no coordinated tourism marketing strategy to
entice same-sex couples to travel here for weddings.

Utah’s tourism and wedding industries so far have not organized any
effort to market to out-of-state couples while the state appeals
Shelby’s ruling, said Jay Kinghorn, spokesman for the Utah Office of
Tourism. Traditionally, he said, the state office has left destination
wedding promotion to local tourism bureaus.

Gay Travel with Alain and his Rainbow Wig

WHAT is the one thing you CAN NOT travel without?

For some
people  it me  be something as simple and small as an iPod. For others, they  might insist on bringing along their favorite pillow. I travel with my lucky underwear!!

But  for Alain, The Sojourner, he doesn’t go anywhere without his rainbow
wig.

What started off as a Halloween costume in 2006 has now become a global
movement, with Alain taking the wig to 11 countries and countless
cities.

He’s even started a photo collection of friends and strangers wearing the rainbow.

‘I pose with it in every country I’m going to. I did it in the Great Wall of China, in Angkor Wat in Cambodia, in front of the Statue of Liberty in New York and some other places.

‘Why am I doing this? It’s because travel is supposed to be fun. It’s not just about the exciting places you’re gonna land on, not only about the incredible people you’ll be meeting or the unscripted lessons you’ll learn – but also about how you make the best out of it!

‘As a couch-surfer, I’ve met hundreds of people and hosted some of them. And the good thing is, they’re ALL willing to wear the rainbow wig, without really thinking about my sexuality.
